I Raced A Honda Civic At Raceway Park

Due to COVID-19 pretty much all the race tracks that are close by have been closed, and they just started opening back up.  I haven’t had a chance to go to any tracks as yet because I’ve been working on the gremlins in my car. You know how it goes fix one thing something else goes wrong, or upgrade this and that breaks.  Yea it sucks!!! But it’s all a part of this car game. There are some events coming up and I hope to make it out to them.  In the meantime, I have a bunch of throwback races for your viewing pleasure.

This race was at the legendary Old Bridge Raceway Park in Englishtown, New Jersey.  I say legendary because the drag strip has been around for 54 years and is now closed.  They are known for hosting drag events for the NHRA.  The owners sold half of the property to IAA Insurance and unfortunately, that half included the drag strip.  I have so many fond memories of this place and I will miss it. 😭   Fortunately, the road course, motocross, and go-kart tracks are on the other half of the property and they’re still open. 😊

I raced my 2011 BMW 335i against a Honda Civic.  I know not much of a challenge, but don’t sleep on Honda’s.  I’ve seen Honda’s takedown supercars and muscle cars easy.  Shit, I think we all have.  At the time my 335i was pretty much stock with an Injen Intake, and I doubt that Civic was stock.  At the start, the Civic got out the gate pretty damn good.  I spun the rear tires pretty hard, but once I caught traction it was a wrap for the Civic.  I don’t think I got a good burnout in the water box, so my rear tires were probably a little wet.  Anyway, I got the dub and that’s all that matters!
